Death of a cat

Updated: Apr 19, 2023

Sunny Sunshine

Grumpy cat died last month. She was only 7 years old.

My character, Anise, has Grumpy cat posters on her wall. Should I mention this in my story? Does Anise have to deal with grief?

I'm not sure if I will at this point. I've given her enough other problems for her freshman year of high school.

This picture is my cat Sunny. She died in January at the age of 13. It was very unexpected. She threw a blood clot that paralyzed her. I thought my old cat would die first. The old cat is 18 years old and has thyroid problems, but she still lives on.

Cats (or any pets) are part of the family. When they go, they leave behind a hole. I still accidentally call the other cats Sunny and miss the things she used to do.

Sometimes, it's hard to move on from the death of a pet.

I had a really hard time when my first cat Squeaker died. I had her for 17 years, from a kitten until the end. We had a ton of memories. I felt better once I wrote about her in a journal, but I still miss her.
